Description
This course focuses upon the history of American education, the educational philosophies which have contributed to American
education, and the role of education in American society today. Emphasis will be placed on the continuing development of
individual student’s educational philosophy, the understanding of contemporary educational issues and learning in modern
society. In each of these areas the student will build upon previous work in earlier courses. Prerequisites: Must apply to teacher
education or consent of education department chair.
