The first thing that comes to my mind is when I am working at Target and a guest is looking for something and I am not sure where it is in the store and they aren't happy with me since I work there. They do not know I do not work on that side of the department, but I have to be accountable for working there and finding out where it is for them.

I see where you're coming from.  While working at Hibbett Sports, some customers would ask me questions about baseball and track and field sports equipment; something I was not too familiar with.  I had to take accountability and do my best to support them, even though it was not my strong suit.
