Developing Personal Accountability Original post: Thu 10/20/2016 at 6:40 PM

After reading this article it made me think back to a time when i was at a restaurant and my meal was completely wrong and I told my waiter what was wrong with it. He quickly apologized and said that he would have it fixed right away, at the end of my meal, my waiter had given me my meal for free because it was wrong. It was not the waiters fault that my meal was wrong, but instead of saying that he took accountability for the service being wrong, and was very apologetic about it.

It shows character that your waiter not only took responsibility for a mistake the kitchen made, but that he was also accountable for the restaurant he worked for in taking steps to make things right.

It could have been very easy for the waiter to just apologize for your meal being wrong and leaving it at that, but by him giving you the meal for free showed him holding himself accountable for something he did not do. That was very nice of him.
