Have you Been Accountable? Original post: Wed 10/19/2016 at 3:22 PM

I think that the there exercises that were mentioned in the article are good standards to live by:

1. Tell the truth

2. police yourself

3. look to yourself first

You should never let another dictate your own morality. I think that if you use these suggestions in your own life you would find accountability an easy task.

Before reading this article, did you have your own type of "standards" that you went through when you were being held accountable for something that you did?

I believe these are great standards to live by but many times it takes having an accountability partner to fully operate in an accountable manner. There might be times where you feel you can just look to yourself but its always nice to have someone that knows you to actually pull you aside and let you know your acting out of the character they know you to be.

I have learned the skill of policing myself through playing the sport of golf. In golf, you are responsible for keeping track of your own score, and while there are people in your group to monitor you, it is almost impossible for them to count every stroke. Golf is a sport built on integrity and accountability and in my experience it has helped me to become more accountable. It would be easy for me to cut a stroke or two during the round, but then I would be cheating myself and all the other competitors. I am glad that I have been exposed to golf and that it has been able to influence me to be a more accountable person.

I agree that you should never let another dictate your own morality and that the three exercises are good standards to live by. Accountability should come as an easy task you are completely right about that.
