Benefits of service-learning Original post: Fri 11/4/2016 at 4:34 PM

For me the first thing that came to mind was me becoming a teacher and explaining to students how important it is to give to others and donate your time with out getting paid. I know when I was younger I always told myself I did not want to give my time if I wasn't getting paid, but then I realized it is better to show people you care about service and how you want to put your name out their and show you are willing to share your time with others and help them out.

I like your post, it really is hard for one to grasp the idea of giving their time for the pure pleasure of helping others who are in need. people who are less fortunate or need just a little assistance will always be appreciative and thankful for your service and no matter where you go in life and whatever anyone says to you, you can be proud and hold your head up high knowing that you did something that will make you a better person, knowing that you did something that will benefit others for the better.

I agree, I believe its more sincere when you're just doing it out of your own will rather than for a paycheck. I know there are some teachers who are just there for a check and there are some that genuinely want to make an impact on their students no matter what they're getting paid. Giving time is more valuable than what they get back to some people.
