Helpful Hints for Effective Peer Reviewing Original post: Sun 10/30/2016 at 7:57 PM

I like how the author talks about giving positive remarks first. To me, when I think of peer reviewing I think of a compliment sandwich. You did this well, but you good fix this, you did this well. You give the person you are reviewing something to boost their confidence and then you give them something that would make their paper stronger and then you conclude it with something they did good again. I think by doing this you give them the revision that they need without destroying the work they did.

I agree that you need to give compliments to help the reader and give positive feedback instead of breaking the person down. Helpful tips is the reason for peer review to get a different set of eyes to help the writer improve and turn in a good paper.
