This article had demonstrated a list of traits to be a successful leader, these traits are Build Relationships, communicates effectively, implements top listening and questioning skills, able to build a team, understands the financial aspects of business, can create a positive work environment, leads by example, and helps people grow and develop their skills. These are skills that an individual will need to become an effective leader. Building relationships is basically creating bonds with colleagues and executives both. With implementing listening and questioning skills, we can see that leaders will stop and listen before speaking, and ask questions that they will need to address in the future. Build a team, effectively creating a team that can effectively interact with one another. Understanding financial aspects, they know how to profit with sales are the key to success. Create a positive environment, create positive morale and recognition is important to keeping everyone motivated. Leading by example, they know when to take things into their own hand and get things done, they set the tone. Helps people develop skills, this means that they know how to help others with on the job learning, concerning themselves with others growth and development.

Out of all 8 traits I believe building relationships and having the skills to network is most beneficial. Many times as a leader you won't be able to do everything yourself so you must be able to delegate tasks. If your able to effectively network you will be able to build relationships that can aid in you completing the common goal or task of your organization.

I like how you used the phrase "the leader sets the tone". This is a good analogy. Because if the leader is showing defective social skills it will create a rippling effect throughout the whole business community. People look to the leader for answers, and if the leader has poor social skills it will effect the work force negatively.
