Developing Personal Accountability Original post: Sun 10/23/2016 at 11:18 PM

Developing personal accountability is all about learning how to take responsibility for the outcomes resulting from your choices and behaviors. I think that in the article it shows us a great example of this. It shows the first customer service agent not taking any responsibility for what has happened and not being helpful at all and thus proving that this person has a lot of developing left to do. Whereas the second  customer service agent does exactly the right thing and takes the blame for something that essentially is not his fault but as he in involved in this company he understands his personal accountability involved in this situation.

I agree with you, here. I thought this was a decent article, too, giving the real-life example of someone being textbook accountable and someone else, not so much. There was a different article, though, that I feel reflected much more efficiently, the process of personal growth, which I deem important for personal accountability, and the foundations of it. So kind of with your statement, I agree that as far as developing a sense of accountability, yes guy 1 has some things to learn (in the workplace, especially/specifically).
