The Call of Leadership Original post: Sun 11/6/2016 at 7:28 PM

The importance of interdependence and self-actualization really stood out to me in this article. It made me think about Maslow's pyramid, the hierarchy of needs. It gave me a new perspective of the pyramid. I think it is important to better ourselves, but we can take it a step further. Collaborating or depending on others even though we may not think we need help can help us achieve even more. That is what leadership is about. We have to take it that step further. Leadership is not about us, but who we affect; who we help.

I think its really interesting that this article drew you back to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and it makes perfect sense, and ties our subject matter into previous work, and class discussion. Leadership is about who we affect and who we help, which also ties in the idea of thinking of leadership as service to others, not as being above one another.
