Accountability Original post: Thu 10/20/2016 at 6:16 PM

I think everyone runs into responsibilities everyday, whether they recognize it or not. Going to class, going to practice, doing homework, etc. However, I do disagree with Webster when he said that "responsibility" and accountability go hand in hand. To me, I look at responsibility as an obligation such as: to get good grades you go to class, where as if you were trying to be accountable and get good grades, you have to do more than just go to class to get the grades you want, you have to study, look over the material given to you. You have to give the extra effort and put in more time to get the results that you want. Being accountable means that you are trying to get the most out of a situation.

I like how you said you have to go the extra responsibility for doing things. Such as studying extra and putting in the effort outside of the class!

I believe you made some great points but disagree and believe accountability and responsibility go hand and hand. To fulfill your responsibilities you must take account for the effort and the type of work you produce whether that is positive or negative.

I agree that accountability and responsibility are not the same thing. To me, being responsible is doing the right thing because other people are depending on you. However, I see accountability as doing the right thing because it reflects your own personal actions. You may sometimes be responsible for other people, but accountability always reflects your own actions.
